Cotton Introduces Bill to Eliminate Illegal CCP Vapes
On April 16, U.S. Senator Tom Cotton introduced legislation to crack down the dangerous illegal Chinese vapes that are flooding the U.S. market. Called the Eliminating Nefarious Distribution of Smuggled Chinese Vapes Act (ENDS Chinese Vapes Act), the legislation would establish escalated civil penalties for imports of illegal Chinese vapes.
“Dangerous, illegal Chinese vapes threaten the health of our children. My bill would increase the penalty on companies that enable Communist China to sell these dangerous devices in American markets,” said Senator Cotton (R-AR).
As President Trump’s visit to China quickly approaches, many lawmakers are sounding the alarm on the dangerous vapes that are addicting American children. In November, Senator Cotton called for the elimination of illegal CCP vapes in a letter to FDA commissioner Marty Makary, stating that more work needed to be done. More recently, 71 republican lawmakers wrote to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer, calling for action as the CCP tries to generate new ‘smart vapes’ that could threaten the national security of America.
With broad nationwide support to stop these CCP vapes, the time to act is now. The CCP is not just trying to addict children; they are threatening military installations and schools, and they will continue to do so unless legislation is passed. CUSP applauds the work done by Senator Cotton and his efforts to keep young children away from addiction.
