FLORIDA AG UTHMEIER ANNOUNCES LAND OWNERSHIP BAN ON CCP OFFICIALS

In early November, Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier announced a significant victory for Florida, following the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit’s decision to defend a law preventing the ownership of Florida land by CCP officials.

Florida AG Uthmeier announced the success on X, sharing: “Today we won big at the US Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit, defending our law preventing ownership of Florida land by the Chinese Communist Party. Thanks to Senior Deputy Solicitor General Forrester and Assistant Solicitor General Schenck for securing a huge win for FL!”

The law in question, Senate Bill 264, prohibits anyone deemed to be from “a country of concern” from having the ability to purchase or own land in Florida. Senate Bill 264 additionally restricts citizens from countries such as North Korea, Cuba, Syria and Venezuela from owning specific types of property, such as properties near critical infrastructures.

Florida Senator Rick Scott has also introduced legislation to prevent CCP officials’ ownership of U.S. property and bar them from continuing to purchase more.

As the Trump Administration continues to crack down on CCP influence, the Chinese Communist Party continues to try and infiltrate all sectors of the American economy. It’s imperative that America’s land belongs to Americans, not our foreign adversaries.
